Bamboo:
Bamboo, which is actually a grass, is one of the most rapidly renewable plants on the planet, with some species growing as fast as four feet in 24 hours. A pole of bamboo can regenerate its full mass in just six months and can be continuously re-harvested every three to five years without causing damage to the plant or surrounding environment. Bamboo is also tough and resilient, which makes for a durable and long lasting building material. With its distinctive grain pattern and remarkable versatility, bamboo is ideal for any residential or commercial environment.
We are proud to use only Smith & Fong’s Plyboo®, the gold standard in bamboo plywood, paneling and veneer products. As the pioneer of architectural grade bamboo products in the West, Plyboo has earned its reputation as the most trusted name in the industry. Plyboo bamboo plywood and veneer is available in standard low emitting (CARB compliant), no added formaldehyde (NAF) or FSC certified.

Coconut Palm:
At Greenworks, we are particularly proud to work with Durapalm® coconut palm plywood, a unique and visually stunning sustainable resource by Smith & Fong, the makers of Plyboo® bamboo products. In South Florida, like in most of the tropics, palm trees are a ubiquitous part of the natural environment. It is therefore only fitting that Durapalm plywood is one of our most popular wood species.
Durapalm plywood is made entirely of plantation grown coconut palms that have reached maturity and no longer produce coconuts. These older palms are generally removed and replaced with younger, better producers. Since there is no developed secondary market for felled coconut palms, palm wood is oftentimes burnt for fuel and literally goes up in smoke in many parts of the world. By choosing Durapalmplywood for your cabinetry and millwork, you can help salvage this valuable resource and preserve exotic hardwood forests. Durapalm will also protect your indoor air quality as all panels and veneers are formaldehyde free. Durapalm plywood and veneers are available in flat, edge and end grain.

FSC Hardwoods:
FSC certified North American hardwoods forests are the most trusted source for sustainable lumber in the market today. All of our FSC certified products can be traced back to a responsibly managed forest through a rigorous chain of custody program, which we have followed since 2009. By selecting FSC North American hardwoods for your cabinetry and millwork, you can enjoy the timeless beauty of maple, cherry, alder and oak with real peace of mind.

Lyptus:
Eucalyptus trees grow quickly and may be harvested within approximately fifteen years of planting. Eucalyptus forests are eleven times more productive on a per hectare per year basis when compared to a temperate forest, which may take 80 to 100 years or more to mature. By choosing Lyptus® for your cabinetry and millwork needs, you can enjoy the exotic beauty of one of the world’s most efficient forest resources.

Reconstituted Veneers:
Our reconstituted veneer products allow you to enjoy the exclusive look of nature’s most exotic hardwoods without the high cost to you or the environment. Reconstituted veneers are engineered from wood fiber from responsibly managed forests and look just the like the real thing. These architectural grade, defect-free veneers are ideal for any sustainable environment and may help earn LEED credits.
